Russian Camp Professionals organized a series of annual and special conferences during the month of November and early December. Some were in-person events while others were virtual in nature. ICF President, Fahrettin Gözet, presented and participated in these events and as well as in some of the associated meetings.

Russian National Conference «Children’s Recreation of 2020-2021. New Forms and Practices»

Inter-regional Conference of Children and Youth Recreation OrganizersChildren’s Recreation: Results of 2020 and Prospects for 2021“.

Held at the recreational and educational complex “BAITIK”, Kazan City, Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, the goal of the conference was to summarize the regional camp work in 2020 and determine the prospects for the future development of the system of recreational and therapeutic opportunities for children and young people. The conference was organized by Ministry of Youth Policy of the Republic of Tatarstan, Republican Center for Health Improvement, Recreation and Employment of Children and Youth “Summer” and “Center for Information Technologies in Education”

Special Guests and Key Presenters at the Conference included Marat Bariev – Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Fahrettin Gözet – President of ICF, and Leonid Protsenko – Associate Director of Federal Center for Children and Youth Tourism and Local Studies. Key topics addressed were:

IV International Conference in Russia: «Sociocultural, Psychological, Pedagogical, Organizational and Managerial Challenges in a Changing World»

This event was a free online conference offered by the Federal Center for Children and Youth Tourism and Local Studies and Children’s Camp Development Fund in Russia. The goal of the conference was to summarize research and popularize best practices in the field of children’s recreation.

ICF visits Russia

ICF President Fahrettin Gözet presented a summary of COVID-19 conditions and regulations related to camps from various countries. He also participated in a panel discussion at the Interregional Conference of Children and Youth Recreation Organizers “Children’s Recreation: Results of 2020 and Prospects for 2021” in Kazan,

While in Russia, Fahrettin Gözet and ICF past-President, Valery Kostin participated in additional various meetings with Russian ICF Board members, camp organizers, camp association presidents and board members, as well as government officials. The trip also included study tours and visits to camps in the Samara and Tatarstan Regions. During the conference in Kazan they had great and friendly meetings with representatives of the Tyumen Camp Association (Larisa Shilova) and Oryol Camp Association (Marina Goryaynova).
