ICF Academy S1 E4: Build a Resilient Staff Team with Dr. Gwynn Powell – USA
March 30th, 2021
ICF has developed a training series of free online/live educational workshops designed to inform and support the international camping community. These workshops take place under the umbrella of ICF Academy.
The more we learn from each other the better we can support one another!
We have several types of learning opportunities planned!
- Webinars with facilitation by presenters.
- Roundtable discussions (using a town hall meeting format).
- Camp virtual tours.
The fourth event of ICF Academy took place on March 30th, 2021.

Favorite quotes of the event:
Camp is that place that helps you become what you have dreamt of becoming, but never thought you would become.
– Kabelo Malefane (South Africa)
The golden rule of camp: You can only have fun if you learn something. If you don’t learn anything, you didn’t really have fun and if you didn’t have fun, you didn’t learn anything. – Rafael Alejandro Pastor Suárez Anzola “Cachi” (Venezuela)
– From the “camp bible of Venezuela”
What camp directors do: We raise children, but we also raise our staff. We are also teaching them the life skills, the need to come forward and the need to problem solve.
– Gabrielle Raill, reflecting on the presentation of Kabelo Malefane from South Africa
