Let’s Talk: Celebrate and Commiserate about Summer

SESSION DESCRIPTION: Let’s talk about last summer.  Join in a discussion facilitated by Ruby Compton to explore the successes and challenges of summer 2022.  We will share in breakout rooms about campers, staff, program, marketing and more, then join back together to hear reports from the room hosts. Thanks to camp we can celebrate and learn.

  • Ruby Compton has worked over ten years in the outdoor industry in summer camp and environmental education. She has special interests in work cultures, staff training and development, productivity, and systems and processes. She works as the Chief Exploration Officer for her company Ruby Outdoors, which focuses on helping busy professionals be more present and confident outside. Ruby presents at conferences around the world and is one of the hosts of the staff training podcast Camp Code. As an active volunteer for the American Camp Association, she serves as a Standards Instructor and Visitor. She is also a member of the Southeastern Fall Conference Committee and a proud member of WNC EPIC.

Staff Training and All Camp Games: an episode 2 in 1

SESSION DESCRIPTION: This 2 in 1 session will showcase the latest thinking about staff training (to help you review your plans and launch new ideas) and introduce you to the magic of all camp games (to build community spirit). We will hear from the experts and then have time to share what works well in your camp!

  • Beth Alison, After 42 years in the Camp industry, Beth Allison is more passionate than ever about intentional leadership training and building solid, supportive community. She began her full-time camp career as a Co-Director in Ontario, Canada and, 10 years later, became the Executive Director of five summer camps. She has gone on to create CampHacker with her husband, Travis, became a founding member of GoCampPro, and is now an author, trainer, international speaker, and one of the hosts of Camp Code, a podcast dedicated to leadership training.
  • Gabrielle Raill, Gabrielle has combined her passion of group dynamics in summer camps and graphic design to educate future staff, parents and organizations about the long-term benefits of camp. As an internationally recognized speaker amongst camp professionals on leadership and training, she is also one of the founders of the Women in Camp Summit and the Thanks to Camp movement.

  3. Select one of the webinars and conclude your registration. Note: you must register for each webinar separately.
  4. Note: this is a free event. You need to have at least an Affiliate status in ICF Connect. Affiliate status is at no cost.

  • The link for each webinar will be emailed to you one day before each webinar.
