A National Outdoor Adventure Education Council was formed in Singapore. The Council overarching goal is to help ensure a high level of safety and quality in outdoor adventure activities across the country.

Tony Tan was appointed as part of the council and Mike Lim (ICF) Ambassador in Singapore shared the news.

The council has been formed to spearhead the development of Singapore’s outdoor adventure education sector by setting national standards for operations and safety, among other tasks.

An estimated 218,000 students per year take part in OAE programs run by the Education Ministry and Outward-Bound Singapore and private operators.

There are about 40 commercial OAE providers who run programs for schools and also cater to thousands of others who take part in adventure activities like hiking, rock climbing, kayaking and ropes courses.
