2019-2020

The National Camping Association of Mongolia (NCAM) provides support to camps across the country with methodology, training and knowledge through workshops and exchanges.

  • NCAM’s guideline of standards and recommended practices was developed and first published in 2006. In response to an NCAM survey and recommendations from members, the document has been revised in its 4th
  • In cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, NCAM organized a workshop on methodology of camp programs. The workshop was conducted during May in 2019 and included Camp directors, teachers and counselors.
  • On the international front, NCAM partnered with the Rotary Club of North Balwyn, Melbourne, Australia to coordinate an exchange program. In January, 2020, Mongolian students were welcomed by Jenny Bowker, past-President of ICF during the study tour in Victoria.
  • NCAM has published “Promotion of Children’s Development“. It is a handbook that outlines the context of development programs for children. It elaborates on the structure, content and administration of youth programs in children’s camps, schools, dormitories, and youth homes. A second handbook on games for children’s development is scheduled for publication before the end of January 2021.

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, only 10 of 45 of the NCAM member camps opened in the summer of 2020.
